Chevy lights one up

Description
Chevy decides to light one up and get the creative juices flowing. Decides to make some crazy moves.

Please don’t take this seriously, there are some moves on here that are likely super unrealistic.

My idea was to retool the roster in a way that they can still stay semi-competitive but also restock the cupboards a bit. This is likely how they want it to go as they probably want to get into the playoffs if possible (not going to happen lol).

Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Jost, Tyson
  2. Öhgren, Liam
  3. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
This is a bit of an outside the box type of idea. Minnesota is in a cap crunch but they can still be a competitive team. With that in mind, and my prediction that the jets suck out of the gate, I figured shipping a fairly low cost PLD to MIN would make sense. They acquire a top 6 C to make two stabs at the playoffs. They can retain Dubois next year for 6.6 million as that’s his QO and it would be a reasonable amount as he’ll put up points with kaprizov.

I’m unsure about the value in this deal, I love ohgren and I’m sure wild fans do as well. I used Jost for cap reasons and to swap his roster spot with PLD. I included Stanley as I feel like he’s a Guerin type player and adds some value to the deal. If this is an overpayment from MIN I totally get it and like mentioned in the description don’t take it too seriously. If you have feedback on this deal let me know.
MIN
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc ($3,000,000 retained)
  2. Stanley, Logan
2.
WPG
  1. Wilde, Bode
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
I don’t like the idea of moving Dillon but the jets have a desperate need to open up space on the blue line and Dillon seems like a prototypical Lou player.
3.
WPG
  1. Panarin, Artemi
Additional Details:
Here’s that unrealistic trade I was talking about. There’s a 99.9% chance that Panarin nixes this deal before it even starts. But for the sake of this ACGM let’s just say he waives his NMC.

Rangers get out of the panarin deal without retaining any salary. They take back wheeler who can still be a productive offensive player. The rangers also acquire Heinola and a reclamation project in Vesalainen and a 2nd round pick.

After thinking about this deal for a while I have 0 idea on what panarin will return. He’s paid a lot but is an incredible player but also aging and not know as the biggest playoff performer. This trade could be way off, I’m sure I’ve underpaid a ridiculous amount LOL.
NYR
  1. Heinola, Ville
  2. Vesalainen, Kristian [Reserve List]
  3. Wheeler, Blake
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (WPG)

The problem with PLD is his effort level for any team that is not Montreal... He bailed on Columbus, who's to say he doesn't do the same thing to the wild. The only destination PLD would be traded to is MTL cause no one wants a cancer like him who can break at any moment on their team.

He thinks he’s one of the best players in the league but the dude has Brock Nelson level numbers lmao

I actually disagree there even though Guerin publicly says he wants to remain competitive this season. I think our true window is 2-3 years from now when Rossi, Boldy, Lambos, Wallstedt, and Faber are all entering their primes while Kaprizov, Brodin, and Ek are still under contract and in their primes.

The Wild outperformed expectations dramatically last year. Nobody thought we'd be as good as we were. I just don't think it's realistic to expect us to perform similarly when we lost Fiala and Talbot as well as the fact Hartman, Gaudreau, Foligno, and Zuccarello all had career years. Call me pessimistic but I'd be really surprised if those guys don't regress next season. I see us as a wild card team that won't be able to beat Colorado in a playoff series, even with someone like Dubois.

I think MIN is setup nicely to be competitive for the next 7-9 years. They’re a team who’s built to compete now and have a new wave of talent come up in the 3 years to extend the window. So yes I agree with what you’re saying, but also agree with Guerin.

This is sadly true. Hopefully he pops off with Connor this year lol. At least make your numbers look elite.

I won't be surprised if the return from a contender will be underwhelming and whatever prospect(s) they get for Dubois won't be any better than some of the ones from Montreal that are proposed on here AND there'll be a ton of Jets fans saying they're so much happier to have gotten said prospect from the Rangers, Canes, Avs or whoever instead of the ones from Montreal.. LOL

Tbh I think a contender will overpay for Dubois. It always happens, there’s always a desperate contender looking to fill a hole that overpays at the TDL.

Dude legit had two more points than Barzal and Nelson. You know the guys playing with a combination of Josh Bailey, Kyle Palmieri, and Zack Parise…. Anders Lee and JGP weren’t even healthy the first half of the year Lmao.

Meanwhile PLD is putting up 60 point seasons with Kyle Connor and he’s like “Oh yeah. I am ELITE.”

Honestly as a Ranger fan, i wouldn't mind trading Panarin. I always thought that he was the right player, just at the wrong time for the Rangers.

I honestly l think that if he had signed on the Island he would have a ring by now. Not gonna lie part of me hopes Drury makes his life hell lol. I’m still bitter about his decision to sign with NYR.

He’s done it in two different cities and had no meaningful success in either one

Of all the players that have wanted out from the Jets for various reasons Dubois has been the biggest clownshow about it and the most harmful to the organization.

I can understand guys want to play where they want and Winnipeg isn't for most of these guys as a preferred place to play but there's a certain amount of "playing ball" involved to get a desired result for all involved, Dubois and his camp aren't doing that.

Petulant-Luc Douchebag can **** off.

I think Brock Nelson is a far better player than Dubois.. lol

Just a guess here but Dubois is the next Brayden Schenn, good player but not a game breaker by any stretch.

We'll see but thats my point kinda, whatever this return will be if it is by a contender at the TDL will be debated over like its some great overpay/return when in reality it might not be that great of a package.

Also think that Florida's 1st is going to be a decent pick, would be good to get.

Haha no, I mean the 2023 1st that Montreal has, the majority of my fellow Jets fans **** all over these Dubois to the Habs proposals that usually involve that pick, I think it'd be a good piece to get for Dubois, not the sole piece though.

I like that florida pick as well. If MTL was willing to do Dvorak + Barron and that 1st I’d do it in a heartbeat.

I would’ve told Montreal at the draft to give me first overall or **** off. I would’ve taken Drouin to make the salary work tho 😂😂😂

Rangers aren't trading a 100 point winger for a locker room cancer at $8M, a defenseman with potential but close to bust territory, an actual bust, and a pick.

It'd have to be a Dubois swap or a futures package that includes Perfetti/Lambert + 1st.
