I’m not sure it makes sense for NY to do this one for one tbh. IK the model hates Pageau but he proves his worth in the playoffs.

And the Islanders do this why?

The whole reasoning of moving Pageau is to sign Kadri and the RFAs, This doesn't allow them to do that.

It would be crazy if they just didn’t sign Kadri who doesn’t fit a need lol

Honestly i don't see where Kadri fits into the Islanders system.

There's already talk of them possibly being the front runners on J. T. Miller plus need to resign Matt Barzal. Can't see how they can afford all 3 of them.

I could c the Kadri deal being 3 years but he can’t play wing. It makes no sense.

Brock Nelson is fine as your guys 2C, Yeah Kadri really isn't a need on Long Island. But that's Lou for you.

That's cool - we'll just sign Kadri to a one year deal and forget this little fake GM thing ever happened.

I still want the 2nd rounder though.

If only that were possible, just don't see Kadri taking anything less than 4-5 years @ probably close to $7,500,000 per.

It'll be interesting to see play out. It's also interesting that Bergeron hasn't signed with Boston yet. How great would that 1 year contract be?

Yeah with the current conditions that exist in the NHL, Quite a few players are taking one year deals and banking on themselves.

I’m a supporter of the pageau for girard. Even did this trade myself but didn’t include the 2nd.

Isles still have to find a way to also ship out Josh Bailey, in order for them to fit Kadri.

There are most people just assuming that if pageau gets traded, he goes for cap space, to sign Kadri.

We will see. It’s a lot to expect Lou to move two players of significance in Bailey AND pageau. But for them to do this trade, that would be the requirement. Teams like ANA or OTT could fit Bailey.

It can also be beauvilier and pageau. But I’ll be pissed if it is.

If Pageau were really the answer at 2C NYI wouldn’t be looking to sign Kadri, so why would he be the answer in COL?

Because people get things wrong. Look up a guy named Devon Toews.

Gonna disagree with the other Isles fans in here, I like this trade a lot for us. Unless we’re moving Pageau’s whole contract to free up space for Kadri, I think trading him for Girard is a big upgrade. We need more offense/play-driving from the backend and while I like Romanov, he’s probably not bringing that. Defense would be pretty damn stacked with both of them on board.

Beauvillier or Bailey are probably the ones getting moved anyways, so I don’t see how Pageau has any effect on that

Yeah not guys that are almost 30 have played for 2 different NHL organizations and have exactly zero 45+ pt seasons. But keep trying partner keep trying. He isn’t the answer and he isn’t worth Girard.

Although the value is good, Isles can't do this.

- Doesn't save cap
- Girard isn't needed as much as he originally was, now that we have Romanov who is all but guaranteed to be a top-4 defenseman. This would be Girard a bottom-pairing guy with us.

If the Avs wanted to do something around Pageau for Kaut+, I'm in.

Is that to get the 2nds back for Toews? If so, I believe our ‘25 and ‘26 are available.
