Bahahahahahahahahahaha.

Kadri > Tavares
Gibson> Murray (By hundreds of miles, not even close)
Doughty + Terry > Marner
Kessel + Wilson> Nylander

You can't be serious. What part of this team is worse? Too tough for you? Not enough skill? This is what a playoff team looks like.

Wilson’s perceived value imo is higher than Nylander. Leafs would need to add. Both teams more than likely pass

Agreed. didn't put a whole lot of thought into details other than some kind of Wilson for Nylander swap. Just trying to make a soft weak team tougher, thought that would be a good place to start.

“ Doughty + Terry > Marner” this isn’t true
“ Gibson> Murray (By hundreds of miles, not even close)”. Also they are a lot closer than you want to believe. Gibson has been very very average. Not to mention Murray has cups I would say Gibson isn’t a massive upgrade. Maybe markstrom or someone like that but Gibson hasn’t been elite in years

the funniest part of this is the "get rid of players with a loser mindset" and you traded for Gibson and Doughty, two players who tons of people around here have continually said "they were bad because they were frustrated their teams were bad so they didnt try" in doughty and gibson, which is the biggest loser mindset there is.

Doughty hasn't played meaningful hockey in half a decade
Gibson and Terry don't even know what winning looks like
The Nylander/Wilson nonsense has been beat to death

Are you talking about two time stanley cup champion, two time olympic gold medalist, world cup champion, 2 time world championship champion, memorial cup champion, world junior gold medalist, Drew Doughty? Yeah, what a loser and losing mindset he has.

im talking about actual things that kings fans and ducks fans used as excuses for why their 'elite' players have been garbage for years. You wanna dispute it, ask them. If these players did give up on their teams, they have a massive whiny baby loser mind set.
As far as the players go, Gibson has been terrible for over 3 years now, worse than Murray by a looooong shot over that time. He's terrible. Doughty had been bad for about as long before a bit of a bounce back last season, and betting on him to be the guy he was last year instead of the massive decline he showed before when he turns 33 in december and has 5 years left (2 more than tavares) would be terribly dumb and these trades are hilariously bad for the Leafs.
But then this is 100% a troll thread, so nice try champ

Doughty just had a pretty great season before getting injured.

I get that Doughty's contract isn't the greatest thing in the world, but maybe just peak at someone's stats before you crap all over them.

I mean most players regress during a rebuild, Doughty's numbers were actually good last season.

As for loser's mindsets, these "elite players" have won at almost every level and they were a big driving factor behind those wins. Which is why they earned that moniker.

Nobody is trolling this is legit. I turned the Leafs around from a 7th straight (SEVEN LOL) first round exit to a cup champion. You should be lauding over this.

like i said, doughty had a bounce back year last season, it doesnt mean he is good going forward. And again, my point was that Kings fans were using the fact that he was on a bad underperforming team as some sort of excuse for him being bad and that's why he mailed it in or whatever, instead of, you know, just aging out of his peak. I cant count the times someone said he was regressing and not near as good any more only to have a kings fan say something like "he's just not motivated to play well!" which, if true, would be a loser mentality.

Oh no, he was legit bad. It was worrying, but he has trended up over the last two seasons. But I think it has less to do with inspiration and more to do with his defensive pairing partners, he had truly awful partners which made him play more of a stay at home role to make up for his partners.

2017-2018: Derek Forbort
2018-2019: Derek Forbort
2019-20 : Ryan Joakim/Ben Hutton
2020-21: Mikey Anderson
2020-22: Mikey Anderson

Take a look at the roles those players play today, he was forced to carry weaker defensemen and thank god Todd McLellan put an end to that.

oh yeah, that was basically what i was saying along with the fact that when you log 25 mins a night for a decade plus it wears you down and when you hit your 30s things tend to go poorly. He's had a great career, he's just in the twilight of it is all
