What is going on with him? How is he progressing? Is he available and if so what is the price? Seems like he keeps getting buried by the Yotes.

he’s been mid but no reason for the yotes to trade him given the current trajectory of their roster imo

I know we're not use to it in Montreal but it's called taking your time and let the player develop.

A simple search on Dobber; It was surprising to see the extremely skilled and Arizona top defense prospect Soderstrom not earn a full-time spot with the Coyotes last year. While he did play 16 scoreless games with Arizona, he spent the majority of 2021-22 with Tucson. It may feel like he’s been around for a long time, it’s important to note Soderstrom is still only 21-years-old. With Tucson, he was one of their best players when in the lineup, putting up three goals and 19 points in 32 games.

Hahaha, I feel like I've seen 4-5 Soderstrom trades in the past 24 hours, and for the life of me I can't think up a reason why.

Re: his development-It's been fine. He's a 21 year who got a cup of coffee in the NHL last year playin on the 2nd worst defensive team in the league. Was it pretty? Not really. But he still projects the same way as when he was drafted a few years ago...solid 2nd pair with 1st pair upside.
Re: his availability-I don't really see why Arizona would have any interest in moving him. Again, he's 21, has a bunch of cheap control, and is the type of player you keep around when you're building. Trading him away would be like you guys trading away Caufield (No, not comparing abilities, just age, projection, control, etc.)...it wouldn't make sense.

LOL, yeah I get that but the Yotes have also been trading and signing RD for a while now. They just signed Stetcher and Brown this year (I know they are depth signings) and traded for Timmons last year. Just seems like they are pushing Soderstrom down more and more.

This is what I was looking for, I kind of wondered why I had seen so many Soderstrom trades and why the Yotes were seemingly pushing him down. He seems like he is going to be a really good player in the near future so it didn't make much sense lol. Thanks for the info.

i mean they don’t really have anyone else at the nhl level aside from those guys they’re bringing in, and they’re easily pushed down as well because of low salary if soderstrom makes the team. they’ve got to ice a roster somehow

Cheers! Without looking back on the actual trades, I would assume it's (yet another) example of fans of teams that are trying to create cap space dumping some and taking a top *prospect* back. It's the ACGM way! tears of joy
