With this cap opening up I was thinking they re sign zacha first then take on a contract like sonny milano

Maybe next off-season they exploring moving Ullmark since Swayman will be due for a raise.

Bruins have already signed Zacha, Bergeron and Krecji - they only have to clear 2.5 million to be under the cap and with the team starting Marchand and McAvoy on IR they will have the cap. Not to mention they will likely bury Wagner again to save about 900K etc.

Then if they do make some cap then they can sign depth. This trade is one example of getting rid of contracts you don’t need

Yeah I am not sure the move yet is to get rid of him. Swayman is a good goalie, I think they need Ullmark this year and make it a 50/50 split. Then explore moving him in the off season when he only has 2 years left. Granted he will have a modified no trade. The problem right now is there isn't a good enough back up for Swayman. After this up coming season, the Bruins have a lot of contracts off the books with core players only moving forward so they will have cap space to give Swayman a bridge deal to prove his worth.

Boston way under cap.

Marchand and McAvoy is out for long time, they save 14 millions - 2.5 millions over cap = 11.5 under cap

Maybe he’ll waive it. When he left buffalo, it was a complete mess and now they’re actually showing signs of becoming a better team

Comrie and Ullmark are the same tier of goalies. Comrie at 1.8 is much more valuable.

No, but I could see him take a big steps towards that this coming season. He and Ullmark had nearly identical numbers last year which is pretty impressive for it being Swayman rookie year.

Yea I think he could go on his own but it also wouldn’t hurt to keep ullmark just in case
