Isn't Brossoit supposed to be ready to go by start of season? Korps was BAD last season too.

Vegas needs to add imo, Columbus is taking the majority of the risk here by trading the higher scoring forward and the goalie for a center, they traded away already who is signed long term but hasn’t hit 50 points in the last 2 seasons when Nyquist had 53 last season on a bad Columbus team.

I’d also say that Nyquist fits Columbus’s time line to get players like Marchenko, Chinakov, Johnson and Sillinger into the top 6 when he is gone next season.

All that being said I can see the idea where Karlsson would be a fit for Columbus, but I’m not sure he’s a number 1 center or worth the 5.9x5 contract he has.

Korpisalo is literally likely the worst 1-3 goalies with more than 100 games played in the last 5+ years or so. Like he's so bad. He had one good run in the bubble a few years ago and people ignore how he is otherwise terrible. Keeping him away from ones team improves it

He had a couple decent regular seasons, this is 100% low cost move

I don't see Karlsson being worth his contract and the Jackets really don't need a player like that on the team with how many young players they have coming up.

I wasn't exaggerating about how terrible he is. They literally would be better just pulling up whatever prospect they have.

He is the ONLY ONE with a save percentage below 0.900. The second worst is Cam Ward at the end of his career at 0.903. Even Brossoit who they already have has a 0.906.

Korpisalo is a terrible goalie and should not be in the NHL. People love this one run he had, and ignore he is bad. (For the record he also has the worst goals against average of the same group).

Hahah fair. Like I said though I was more going off a couple of decent regular seasons than that leafs playoff series.

Goalie market is pretty flipping bare that’s for sure
