Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 12, 2022
Published: Aug. 12, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- BOS shed 2 M for two years then Reilly's contract expirers. NYR get that veteran presence with Schneider.
- Maybe CHI are interested in acquiring Kravtsov? (they have the lineup to give him playing time)
- Goodrow is on LTIR because we waved him and some team picked him up. Not a real moral booster and probably not that realistic a team would. But on the other hand a team like ARI needs centers, who know's right?

It’s tempting for the bruins but I feel it would be easier for the bruins to trade Reilly to another team for a 3-5th round pick

The value is fine for Boston, but it’s what is getting moved that’s the issue. Don’t get me wrong, Reilly should be dealt around Thanksgiving when Grzelcyk returns. But the Bruins should keep their first round pick, we’re headed towards at the very least a retool and picks will be gold during that time. The Bruins also don’t need any more defensemen, especially on that right side. And Gauthier would be the 4 or 5 RW on the depth chart, not exactly moving the needle. So, again, the value is there on face value, and Reilly makes sense for New York. But Boston would be better off shipping Reilly alone for a later pick, probably a 4 or 5

ah yes a slightly undersized offensive dman that still can't crack a full time role and only had 4 points in 25 games so underrated.

mike reilly is the best proven player in this trade and we are giving up a 1st on a season after we lose bergy and krech and probably will be a lottery team for 3 positions we don't need and probably won't be more then a bottom pair dman and 4th liner

this trade is terrible considering our 24 1st will probably be a lottery pick which we would select a player with a much higher potential then any 1 of these players had.

I agree it is a little checky. My idea here was to give BOS cheep roster players to fill out roster. Besides Lundkvist got the point record for any SHL d man. Beating players like Erik Karlsson well, all swedish defense men. If to look at Lundkvist progression it took him two SHL season before he dominated that league. I do think he hit the same initial wall adapting to north American style.

But don't be surprised if he is dominating at the end of 2023-24.

Although I respect and understand your concerns fully.

Take the picks out and the hawks accept. There's little to no desire for the hawks to downgrade picks fir the next few seasons. Kratsov isn't that intriguing at all.

No. Boston holds onto 1sts now. Unless it’s for a young top 6 center.

Boston’s D was one of the top units in the league by all metrics. That was before adding Lindholm. As much as the fans want to add another big name, the D does not need to be fixed. Just needs to get healthy.

You're trading two rangers top prospects for... Bottom 6 players?

I'd like to hear your reasoning for saying Kravstov isn't intriguing at all... Have you even looked at his play in the NHL?

What does undersized have to do with anything. I thought we'd collectively moved past the whole size thing, when guys like Caufield, Fox, and DeBrincat proved that size doesn't matter at all. All this shows is you clearly don't understand how difficult it is, especially for young defensemen, to transition to the North American rinks and the overall style and pace of the NHL. It also shows you didn't pay attention to how he was playing in Luleå, and you missed how much he improved with the Rangers and Hartford. It's also funny how you said "and still can't crack a full-time role" when he's been in NA for one year, has played 25 NHL games, and is a top contender for the final roster spot this coming season. Only time will tell what he does, but you're embarrassing yourself with those claims...

All 20 games and 4 points? Hawks aren't in position to be trading away draft picks for anything. A team like Anaheim or LA could be interested. A team that's farther along in their rebuild.

the SHL stat comparison isn't really that impressive when karlsson was 16-17 playing in the SHL
and lundkvist was 21
