Acquiring any replacement for Robin Lehner makes Lauren Brossoit not merely expendable but surplus once he comes off the IR list. Ask yourself this: which is better -- Cam Talbot in exchange for two first-round draft picks, or Semyon Varlamov for Brossoit, a second and a third (a proposal which has been made at least half a dozen times on CapFriendly)?

I can see Vegas giving up a non 2023 1st for a starter caliber goalie if it means getting rid of Brosdoit as well, but given all the buying Sens just did, I don't think they are interested in parting with their starting goalie.

I would strongly assume if Ottawa was offered this for Cam, he'd be gone. Regardless if they just traded for him.
