Chicago is going to want a guaranteed first. Two 2nds and Puljujarvi for a couple cap offsets and Kane at 50% retention is not a good deal for Chicago.

Patrick Kane at 5.25 mil for a bunch of scraps isn't happening, Zero chance of getting Kane for 5.25 mil without at least one 1st round pick going back.

With that said the rest I don’t agree with going into the year with a 20 man roster and no cap left is not smart.

The NHL rejects the trade - CBA says you can’t have conditions in the trade based on a player resigning.

Another team will certainly offer AT LEAST a guaranteed 1st. Just look at how many 1sts get dealt at the TDL. I mean...if Chiarot can get a 1st+ crazy to think any post wouldn't have a 1st on it.

Kane is a pending UFA after this season. Difference is a TDL move vs before the season starts. Same number of playoff runs.
