The 1st and 2nd are good. Turcotte’s stock feels pretty down, and I can’t say Iafallo or Walker do much. A Laine package would have to include Byfield.

I think Turcotte’ stock should rise, he’s been a injury prone. Walker has always been a good D man but due to his long term injury im sure it lowers his stock a little. With Iafallo he’s a solid 2 way forward, can fit Top 6 role on many teams he just didn’t have a good season last year. We expect him to bounce back but only time will tell.

Nope, Not even close for Laine, Start with Byfield if you want him.

The only way Laine would get traded would be for a 1C, so Byfield is probably the only way.

I wouldn’t add Byfield. Like I mentioned, just trying to see what he’s worth.

Unfortunately, that is what he’s worth 🤷‍♂️

CBJ are already flush with Ws, so Iafallo is just redundant for us, even if he is otherwise solid. Getting Byfield would also assure KJ plays on the wing, at least for the time being.

And even if Turcotte plays better, you said it yourself - he’s injury prone. That’s a red flag I don’t want to deal with, particularly if it’s at the cost of Laine.

As a Kings fan, I wouldn't trade Byfield for Laine 1-for-1.

The only reason I wouldn’t trade Laine/Byfield 1 for 1 is we would have to move a lot of other pieces to make the cap work. Besides that I would LOVE to have Laine.

He's arguably the worst defensive player in the league. Byfield is going to be the next Kopitar.

I agree on that his defensive game is agreeably one of the worst but he’s a proven 40-50 goal guy. Byfield hasn’t proved anything just yet so it’s hard to call him the next Kopitar. I understand every player develops differently but Byfield has a lot of work to do. This is just my opinion of course, but I don’t think Byfield will ever be on Kopitar’s level. He’s gonna be a strong defensive, physical player but I don’t see him being a 30 goal guy. Although, he has a lot of time to prove me wrong. This upcoming season will show a lot of it.

The kid just turned 20 two days ago and was recovering from a broken ankle this past season. Kopitar didn't do much in the NHL until his 2nd professional season. He had a chance to play a full year professionally in Sweden before he came to the NHL and didn't have a serious injury to deal with.

If another season ends and Byfield is still struggling to find a spot on the roster, then you can start to doubt his effectiveness. Until then, he's the next #1C for the Kings, and I wouldn't trade him for anything short of McDavid or Makar.

Kopitar got 61 Points in his rookie at 19.
Kopitar got 77 Points at 20 years old.

Byfield hasn’t done even 10% of Kopitar.

I strongly disagree you. I can name you many players I would swap Byfield with. Mathews, Eichel, Fox, Tkachuk, Mackinnon, and many others. You have high hopes for Byfield I can see. But I just strongly disagree. That’s just my opinion.

If CBJ wants a center for Laine, Jets offer PLD and a 3rd for Laine and Roslovic

You should want to trade Laine, he's barely NHL caliber. PLD, on the other hand is a future Hall of Famer.

What? Me, bitter? No way!
