A 29 year old Miller isn't returning Raty, Not even close.

Or is thinking hes going to magically fall off a cliff the second he turns 30 more of a ridiculous take? or to say Raty is a sure thing? you tell me

Im willing to bet Raty is gonna be an NHLer in a years time. Lou probably wants to keep him in the AHL next season with Dufour tbh. I am not saying either guy is a superstar. I’m saying they will be cheap talent that can help the isles transition away from their older forwards. Adding Miller makes their roster issues worse in the long run.

Usually they ask for Raty, Dufour, Wally and Dobson so this is an improvement! And then isles fans get called delusional cause they don’t want to sell the farm for a rental. Weird af.

You can’t rebuild with Sorokin net. They will need to retool for sure. But it seems like Dufour and Raty will be able to provide middle six value for the isles based on how they’ve played so far. I never said either guy is a superstar. I’m just saying I’d rather have an effective middle six guy for the next decade than a declining center in his 30’s.

your putting way to much stock in a watered down 7 game tournament in the middle of the summer. and if you think those 2 are more valuable to a team than JT miller there is no help for you. Yes those guys will help you YEARS down the road. but if you think those guys are the answer then blow it up because they dont move the needle any time soon, JT does

Dude it’s not just about a “watered down 7 game tournament.” It’s about the fact Dufour dominated the Q and Raty was fantastic in Ligga. The tournament is just further proof they can hold their own against top prospects who are their age lmao.

Why do the isles need to either trade for Miller or blow it up? It’s not like the isles made it to back to ECF’s with great wingers. They did it with Leo Komarov on the first line.

You don’t seem to understand his value is being impacted by the fact he’s expiring and 29 years old. Other teams don’t want to pay for Miller’s past production. Nobody in their right mind trades high end prospects for aging rentals. Give me a break.

pretty likely Raty doesnt become close to the player miller is RIGHT NOW. getting him on a bargain contract and likely with retention. everyone on this website put so much into potential as if cups are won on who has the most promising prospects as if they all pan out. Miller trade also likely comes with an extension

Then why don't you want the Canucks to simply sign JT to a new deal? Don't you want the Canucks to win a cup?

Nope they want to rip everyone off and get offended when we call them out on it.

Also don’t say OEL is 7 million dollar orange cone. If you do they won’t shut up about Josh Bailey’s contract which has 2 years and ten million dollars left lmao.

im wrong to assume Raty wont be an elite first line centre who plays in all situations in his first few years in the league? get real

Raty won’t be an elite center in his first few years, but there is a good chance he’ll be a high end top 6 center making 890 k. Miller is only going to get worse as he enters his 30s. Teams need young top 6 talent on their ELC or they have no chance at contending.

This is why there is no chance Raty would go for JT Miller.

This is actually what i want. i would love the canucks to resign him. however the canucks likely cant go past 6 x 8.5 maximum. i think if they trade miller they need to get back quality over quantity. for the islanders id propose Raty and a high pick as a starting point. im not defending this trade i dont see why the islanders make it either im attacking this idea that Raty is somehow untouchable for miller

Its the same for Ranger fans when they post nonsensical Miller for Schneider trades, but reason doesn't work with them and the nonsense trade posts will continue.

The idea he’s untouchable in a Miller deal is correct because JT Miller is almost 30. Holy ****.

You can’t get that high quality for a 29 year old on an expiring deal. He’s not 25 and I’m his prime. Omg.

Every team has young players that the fan base doesn't want traded, especially for rentals. Canuck fans are no different. So Islander fans get tired of repeatedly saying Raty and Dobson are untouchable, so can you blame them. If I post a Podkolzin trade it gets taken down within 10 minutes because Canuck fans complain to the monitors because they don't like it. So maybe Canuck fans should stop harping on trades for players they KNOW will just get a negative response from the other teams fan base. Just a thought.

for like the 7th time, a miller deal 99% chance comes with an extension. and hes 29 in his prime, players hit their primes at different points. not everyone is a stud in their early 20s. and you absoutly can get high value for a 99 point player tf are you talking about

this website is made for hypothetical trade offers, dont think that stops anytime soon lol. and i wouldnt consider podkolzin untouchable, would just take a lot to get him. maybe a 99 point player making 2.5 million would get the job done tho...

The dude also suggested a contract Miller would never sign. A lot of fans out there care more about “winning” when it comes to their fake trace proposals. Like dude. We don’t make those calls. We r legit just discussing what would be fair value. And it seems like some Canucks fans really struggle with the idea JT Miller isn’t the second coming lmao.

He’s not gonna be great thru his 30’s in all likelihood. The fact u refuse to acknowledge players get worse as they age is weird af lmao.

Agreed, but then why to Canuck fans do nothing but complain to the monitors when one of their players is in a trade proposal they don't like? They have no problem posting trades that other teams fans don't like but complain when it's their team. Why is that?
