This is one of the most fair trades for Miller that I have witnessed on CapFriendly.

LA passes, Not even in the ballpark for Sean Durzi.

Miller wants to play in the US, And the Leafs aren't giving that up for a one year rental.

Kings decline. They need an established left side D other than wingers and Dermott although he plays left side isn't a very good fit.

Miller has no say in a trade to Toronto for this season........So he is going to TO if Dubas and Stand Pat Allvin make the hockey trade.

True he has no say now, But i can guarantee you. That this isn't close to a winning bid on him. Niemela is overrated, Kerfoot is just a joke and a late 1st round pick isn't even close.

Los Angeles declines. The Kings' primary need is at LhD, and Dermott isn't the quality LhD we're looking for -- Sean Walker can probably play that side as well as Dermott, Mikey Anderson is better, and Alex Edler has more experience. And with youngsters like Art Kaliyev, Rasmus Kupari, Alex Turcotte and Gabe Vilardi and more behind our top-6, Hoglander isn't a need, either.

I can see this being declined because the pieces aren’t really needs for Durzi but it’s crazy to say it’s not in the ball park. Hoglander is a great young asset, Dermot is a good option on the left side, and an added 2nd is more than fair IMO.

The Kings aren't interested in trading down. If they're trading Durzi, they're going to package him up with other assets for a 1LD like Chychrun. With the Kings looking to compete now and Durzi currently owning the 3RD spot, this trade doesn't make sense for the Kings.

If Vancouver wants Durzi+ for Podkolzin, then the Kings might be interested. Durzi for a package is a non-starter for the Kings.

So you wouldn’t trade Durzi for a very good upcoming winger who is 21 years old on top of a serviceable lhd and a 2nd because you’re in need of a top pairing lhd, but you will consider trading him + more for another upcoming 21 year old winger? I know Podkolzin is a better player but the logic there is a little strange. That’s fair if the hope is to package him to get someone like Chychrun, but with the depth LA has on the right side I think they could do a lot worse than a package like this from VAN.

Edited for spelling

Yes. The Kings are looking to get better now, not several years from now. Durzi is their single-best trade chip, and they're not going to waste it on a "serviceable LHD" or an "upcoming winger" that hasn't proven to be an NHL player. The Kings already have a bunch of serviceable LHD and even more "upcoming wingers," but very few with the ceiling that Podkolzin has.

More likely, the Kings will package up Durzi to fill an immediate need (1LD). Vancouver doesn't have anyone that fits that description that they're willing to move, so there's really no trade to be made here.

Canucks have blown their chance to trade Miller for huge package.......Stand Pat Allvin and Retired Rutherford are out to lunch and now planning to keep Miller to avoid critism from media on making a bad trade.
