There's no reason Montreal would consider that.

If he's not a competent 2c on a garbage team, he won't be on the Avs. Not sure if you've watched Ambrosio, but they wont move him for a non impact player. Thanks for Lehk.

I've seen this by a bunch of non MTL fans who didn't watch him at all last year and I'm not sure where this idea that Dvorak became some sort of cap dump all of a sudden comes from? He had a good season last year despite almost everyone on the team having down years.

No one is thinking Chychrun is a garbage player because he played on a bad Arizona team last year.... It would be no different for Dvorak in MTL this past year. A whole year under MSL and healthy would drive the price up a whole lot and I don't doubt he can do it.

Dvorak was on fire once Ducharme was let go and MSL came in. Similar to Caufield. Was almost a PPG under MSL. Dvorak had statistically one of his best seasons in the NHL despite getting injured and having half a season ruined by Ducharme. He's no superstar but man I think ppl are so used to seeing Habs fans defend Byron, Armia, etc etc nonsensically that they are attributing it to every player on the team not named Suzuki or Caufield.

Dvorak is undoubtedly the Habs #2 centre right now and not a player the Habs will just trade for the sake of trading. He's young, relatively cheap for what he does, young and is signed long term to a very digestible contract. He would be a lock for 50-60+ points in a healthy year in COL. He was on pace for 50 on a terrible Habs team last year for crying out loud.

I don't think the Habs can get a 1st and a 2nd like what they originally paid for him but a late 1st from a contender like Colorado is the ask IMO and I can see the Habs getting it from someone this year. If they were only looking for the above offer from OP, the deal would have been done already.

Ambrosio is prospect Dvorak

At 20, Dvorak was a 2.0 PPG player in the OHL and finished tied for 4th in scoring for the US WJC team. Ambrosio didn't even hit top-6 in points for his college team. Dvorak is 6'1 200 lbs. and Ambrosio is 5'9 165 lbs.

I cannot fathom how you could think Ambrosio is prospect Dvorak.

Is Dvorak a 2.0 PPG player now? Maybe we can trade Yakupov for Dvorak because he was a 3.0 PPG player in the OHL

Remember when Bednar would start Kadri 3v3 in OT and then he left the ice as soon as he took the face off?

I'd prefer if Montreal were to move Dvorak, that they'd get a pick or prospect that has a realistic shot at being what he is in the NHL. Its a surprise if guy with Ambrosio's current track record can even stick in the AHL long term.

But still had one guy who could win face offs. Not saying face offs win games, but you want at least one guy who can do them besides Landeskog

If you got to watch them play, you would see the comp. Ambrosio will be a bottom 9 multi-tool for the Avs if/when he makes it, much like Compher is currently. He's ok to fill in but, you do not want JTC/Dvorak/Ambrosio on your second line going for a cup. Even worse, restricting what you can pay your core guys the following season.

The Avs - Habs trade is a lose-lose for both teams.
I get the ACGM fun in trying out trades, but in real life, this is utterly pointless for both teams.
