As an oilers fan I'd be very upset if Holland went in this direction.

Lindholm is a much better defenseman than klingberg.

Ducks and Hawks pass.

Patrick Kane will be a Ranger.

And not enough for Klingberg at 50% retention.

And Klingberg is a much better offensive defenseman than Lindholm, they have very similar values

Lindholm's offence greatly outweighs klingbergs defense. Lindholm is by far the better all around defensemen, we don't need another offensive dman anyway

Ducks will 100% get at least a first round pick for Klingberg, maybe more if he excels. Like Salzy said, they'll probably get a similar return to Hampus Lindholm. Kane trade isn't terrible, but Hawks will ask for 2 firsts for Kane and an extra pick/prospect to take Foegle. They won't take a cap dump for free.

I am aware of Lindholms game. And They are insanley similar in value

Oilers not needing another Offensive Dman has nothing to do with me I didnt make this ACGM

Klingberg easily starts at a 1st + a good prospect with 50% retention

I highly doubt Barrie will ever be on the Sens radar. They want to improve 5on5 defensive play.

They won't need a PP specialist

Chabot - Brannstrom - Sanderson

But Batherson, Stutzle can play the point (and be excellent)

Plus all of DeBrincat, Norris, Giroux, Tkachuk, Pinto, etc

As long as Barrie, Bouchard and Ceci are good enough and hold down the RD spots, a trade for Klingberg may not make sense for Edmonton.
But come trade deadline time, if Klingberg's production doesn't fall off a cliff, I think the going rate is a prospect and a 2023 1st.

As for Kane, I think his going rate (unless Kyle Davidson messes up) is: established player/good prospect, a middling prospect, and a 1st along with another 1st to retain 50%.

Barrie is every bit as good as Klingberg. This is terrible asset management.

I'd say Barrie is better but even if consider it a wash we know Barrie and we know he fits in extremely well within the dressing room so the only thing I can see this do is upset chemistry. I see no positive what so ever. I personally wish this Kane talk would die down just don't see any possible way to do it without removing a part of the team we need more than Kane. Maybe a huge splash the following year when not starting the year in ltir and have more wiggle room for deadline.

I don't think Chicago can ask for additional assets for retention or get too hung up on taking back money otherwise they will get nothing he makes way way too much for any team that would be interested to fit in at this point.

From reports, Kane doesn't want to move until the deadline anyhow.
