I still see a way Kane comes back down the road on a small deal to retire here. The large increase in cap will be a plus as well. There's a lot of options going forward, it'll be interesting to see how KD approaches it all.

    A) I don’t think you’re at the cap floor. Just fyi.
    B) LW depth is awful after Reichel. So maybe you get to the cap floor by signing a LW.
    C) Personal opinion is Regula > Vlasic. I think he’s going to need more seasoning in AHL.
    D) Super pumped about Slaggert and Nazar!

To think they have (at least) 2 more 1st round picks in a deep draft with the potential of one of those being Bedard, is really exciting. Even Fantilli or Michkov is an amazing consolation. My only gripe with Michkov is how long it may take to bring him over.

I really hope we trade Kane for a kings ransom at TDL and then draft Bedard and Kane come back as UFA to continue his Blackhawks career and go for all time franchise leader in games, etc and to play with Bedard.

True about Michkov but look at Kaprizov. Dude comes over and is immediately tearing sh*t apart.

It's possible, I don't know how much the Hawks can get in a trade that doesn't include an extension. But he is the best rental of all time, so you never know.

Michkov isn't eligible to come to NA until the 26-27 season, which leads right into KDs rebuild timeline at least.

If Edmonton offered Holloway and barrie and 2023 1st unprotected I would take that deal imo Holloway is going to be a very good player.

If one of Kurashev or Slaggert can be full time NHL centers (I don't think they can be) then I would be fine bringing in a LW but you probably need that ice time open for their development, not to mention not knowing who we draft with all these picks coming up in future years and the LW's we took in the draft this year

Go for Michkov. Tank couple more years. Hawks have so blatantly tanked there’s no way they’re getting 1OA. Plus Michkov is gonna be the next Datsyuk

Will he be let into the US though, that’s the million dollar question

Bedard is better, I might have Fantilli over Michkov as well. All 3 are going to be awesome though

It’s actually the $950k for 3 years and then likely $9M for 8 years question. 🤣🤣

Yeah, but they won't. It's too rich for a rental, and Holland doesn't pay a king's ransom for rentals.

The 2nd part there is probably true, but I don't think the 1st part is. Kane may be a rental but he's essentially the best rental in NHL history. Also, I doubt a deal happens without some sort of extension in place, whether that's official or just a behind the back agreement. It's just better for all parties that way

Michkov was popping the Michigan goal off too. He’s aggressive, snipes, band staysssss moving. Adam Fantilli might be the next great PWForward but is that just saying he’s the next Landeskog/Wilson? Meanwhile Michkov might be the next Kucherov/Panarin level of Russian elite and I would rather have that than a great power forward. Although if you send me in the direction of some Adam Fantilli playing in a tough league or big games and dominating then I’ll be open to re considering

You'll see it over the next 6-9 months at Michigan in the NCAA and at the next Juniors tourney. He has all the makings of an alpha #1 center and has looked the part in the hockey he has played. If he at all looks like the same guy against some stiffer compition I fully expect him to pass Michkov for the #2 spot given Michkov's situation of not being able to come to NA for a while. Fantilli is like Getslaf+. with much more skill to his game. I'll add, while the USHL isn't the best of competition, the fact taht Fantilli dominated it at 16 years old says something

    says something

Older bro Luca probably helped him. Last USHL player of the year to do much in the NHL was Kyle Connor in 16’ and Fantilli isnt that. Until Adam Fantilli dominates all competition around him at a higher level like Michkov and Bedard do I hope you pick Michkov first. This isn’t podkolzin aggressive craft russian hockey. Michkov is theee next Russian. Plus if you like steel prospects then Celebrini is the one you want
