Lundkvists value is at an all time low. He is worth a second-third round pick at most

You think Vancouver would have to add? Hoglander is younger with two years of NHL experience. Van tells you too F off

Can you read? I said Hoglander FOR a 5th. Two totally separate trades.

Don’t recall Hoglander asking for a trade though.

Reported ask is a young centre. McDonough is the same age as lundkvist and is a point per game college player. Added a 4th due to risk McDonough not signing and going UFA (which is very unlikely).

Considering lias andersson who was a former 7th overall pick was traded 3 years after his draft for only a 2nd, I fail to see how another disgruntled player who has asked for a trade deserves anything more than this

Even if we are baseing the trade of the Andersson trade (even tho we shouldn't) this trade is still off.

It’s a lot closer then that.

Lundkvist is worth a second at this point. The OG offer was bad but let’s not pretend Lundkvist is a premium asset

How is it off? McDonough (who fits NYRs ask) + a 4th is easily equal in value to a early 3rd. Lundkvist being a depreciated asset who is entering his d+5 season and reportedly won’t come to camp u less he’s traded is worth around a 3rd in value.

This offer has the right value and fits the rangers preferred asset type coming back.

Drury is in the drivers seat.
Lundkvist won't come to camp because he knows he can't beat our Schneider and there is no spot for him on the Rangers.
This doesn't make him any less valuable on the market.
Worst case scenario he plays in the SHL on loan, can't imagine Drury takes pennies on the dollar for him.

Probably because he was a 1st round pick who had a really good shl rookie season and then platoed. Then he had a disappointing first season in North America and now has asked for a trade. He went from surefire top 4 Dman to question mark to distressed asset in about a year and a half

He is actively requesting a trade. That already reduces the Rangers leverage in negotiating a deal with teams. He is also coming off a pretty mediocre year where he struggled to stay in the NHL, and didn't produce well at the AHL level.

Right, I'm not arguing that, however I don't expect him to fetch a very large return

context is everything, right?
he is disgruntled because he knows the Rangers right side is cemented.
tough calling a 21 years old's first season in NA a plateau (or plateod whatever that is).
no doubt he can be a top 4, just not with the Rangers.

his value is whatever Drury wants it to be because Drury doesn't have to trade him, he can let him waste away if he wants - doesn't mean he has to take a lowball offer.

Lundkvist is asking for top 4 minutes and powerplay time. How many teams can actually provide that? Not too many...

It's been public knowledge for a while that DiPietro wants out of Vancouver. I don't hear any Canucks fans claiming that his value isn't at a low tears of joy

The plateau was his 3rd SHL season where his scoring dipped, especially his 5v5 scoring which went way down and he relied on the PP for half his points. The bad year in North America didn’t help things but now that he’s requested a trade, there is no reason for any team to offer 1st round pick value for him. That’s why his value is at an all time low

I mean VAN has a shot at the playoffs but this isn’t a top 2 team in the Pacific.
