EJ blocks regardless, and none of that is interesting enough to trade Girard. MTL doesn’t have a piece that COL would trade for ala a top 6 center that at the very least is team controlled for several years, and no that’s not Dvorak.

No it’s not, Lehky is my favorite player but I’ve seen both and Dvorak is a better hockey player than Lehky. Lehky just have more heart and he is a step above defensively + forecheck + speed. But Dvorak have better offense and he’s not bad defensively as well + he’s playing center and great on faceoffs

No he’s not. Lehkonen is significantly better in shot share, he’s better defensively, he’s better in xGD, and that’s all throughout his career. And face offs are the most overrated stat in the league at least until they start listing them by situation. MTL overpaid for Dvorak betting on his upside, it was a bad bet by MB, watching him in AZ I was honestly shocked. He is solid, but on a championship contending team he’s a really nice 3C not 2C.

Lehkonen was viewed has a bottom six forward by everyone and fit well in COL Top 6. Dvorak speed is the only reason why he isn’t a perfect fit to be COL 2C

MTL doesn't have anything that would really make sense to get Girard. He makes all the sense for MTL but nothing they have fits what COL needs.

The NYR package though are 2 players they are actually trying to move. So they would be possible to get for futures if you really believed in them but I doublt MTL would be looking to move anything too much of value there as that is what they are trying to do atm.

He isn’t a perfect fit because he isn’t a play driver hence not a top 6 C. He’s been destroyed in shot metrics his entire career only one season ever having more shots for vs shots against in 5v5 situations. As for Lehkonen I have no idea why he didn’t get used as a top 6 forward but not only did he get used as one in COL his play had them choose him over Burakovsky. I do know you don’t give up your top d prospect and a 2nd rd pick for guy you think is strictly a 3rd line guy. Maybe it ends up he doesn’t produce to that level, which would be a disappointment but he is going to get prime minutes this coming season with COL with high end linemates.

The reason he wasn’t getting top 6 minutes is because if you are overpaid in MTL, you will play high in the line up. So Hoffman Drouin making 4.5M 5.5M will play over Lehkonen because of salary. Jesse Ylönen showed he’s better than Gallagher and Armia in the small sample he played, but since they are getting paid 6.5M and 3.4M, unless there’s an injury, he’ll be buried in the minors. As for Dvorak, no he’s not the play driver guy, but if you put him with play driver, he can be effective. He’ll probably play with Drouin and Anderson next year, we’ll see how it goes

Rangers wont be getting that kind of package for 2 assets they are looking to move down their depth chart. Drury will do the right thing and give them a chance to play elsewhere for cheap

The rumours are that Dvorak gets you maybe a 2nd at this point. Don't see him being moved at 26 with 3 years of team control. The cap will shoot up in 2024, they'd be able to get a good package and he presents good insurance in case their other centers like Dach dont work out as Kirby had a real tough time in the faceoff circle last year and was playing some wing.

Dvorak gets traded IF Dach secure the 2C spot in 2022-23 and MTL draft one of Bedard, Fantilli or Dvorsky in 2023… so the chance both those things happens are pretty low so Dvorak will be MTL 2C-3C for the next 2-3 years

They really dont need to rush any moves at this point with cap flexibility and uncertainty in the middle of the ice. Dach is a good bet but he's not a sure thing. I definitely agree with you. Dadonov and Drouin will move on at the TDL. Monahan, I think, he has a chance to be resigned as his age of 27, and maybe, modest contract request could work as a 2 or 3 center. Same for Jake Allen, the goalie market is barren and he loves Montreal, lives close to Montreal, he played Juniors in Mtl, only just turned 32. He can be signed long term and cheap. He's also good insurance for Cayden Primeau.
Their back end is the worrying part as they have a surplus of depth but again not many high end pieces unless Norlinder and Hutson work out as legit puck movers. I hope not drafting Nemec wont come to bite them much like not drafting Quinn Hughes and instead KK.

Harris could be that puck moving dman, the question is does he has the offense in him ? We ain’t resigning Monahan, the guy is slow and Gorton Hughes want a fast team with seize. Another reason why I think Dvorak could be dealt but right now he’s too crucial
