Isles don’t need to add a bottom six forward, and certainly not at that price. I like Engvall, but no.

Big decline from the Jets. Even without retention I think they say no.

You are all good man lol. Engvall has value, but imo he’s worth like a 4th.

If they took out the DeMelo/Holl part I think that Winnipeg would consider it.

Two cap dumps, Hirvonen and Niemela are good prospects no doubt, I don't think Robertson is, then a late first and two late thirds

That retention on Scheifele and DeMelo isn't realistic, if they trade either guy I don't see them retaining any amount.

Kerfoot is a good player, but we live in a flat cap world. Teams aren’t lining up to add a middle six winger rn. I bet Anaheim would take him for free tho lol.

I get not liking Robertson, but I hate Scheifele the person so much I’d probably do it anyway lol.

honestly i think both teams say no, if this trade doesnt work out in that 2 year window we are kinda ****ed, our D core is pretty old niemela should be a huge part of it down the road

Josh Anderson is not a good hockey player, I've never called him a god.

The jets trade seems to be a quantity over quality trade so they decline

U would need to add one more winger to this lineup imo. Maybe Milano. But if u deployed Scheifele as ur third line center idk how they would lose. Murray would need to have a complete meltdown, and so would Samsanov. But I genuinely like Samsanov and I kinda wanted the isles to trade Varly and sign him to back up Soroky lol.

i like samsonov too, he was pretty solid for the caps against florida. he could be a starter, like he could be a flop. def worth the risk, he had great numbers in the khl

I normally find myself siding against leafs fans, but this isn’t a bad offer. I would take Robertson out of the deal and add the 2024 first to it instead. Robertson could play with Scheifele, and Chevy could go back to jets fans and point to his haul of draft picks that r coming back in the deal.

Agreed. I think worst case scenario he’s a solid #2. If they had signed Comrie instead of adding Murray then I would really like this roster.

Honestly I don’t even think this trade would be the answer to Toronto’s issues. They really just need one of their Goalies to pan out and they should be fine. I liked a lot of their smaller UFA signings, I just don’t trust Murray. I like the idea of Murray, but I don’t trust him to stay healthy.

So, they take 2 cap dumps and retain $9,000,000 for a first and 2 thirds and some B prospects while giving up the 2 best players in the trade ? I have to respectfully completely disagree with you and stick to my assessment this is a quantity over quality trade.

kerfoot is owed 700k in salary. he can play center so could cover some quality mins, holl literally has the the same stats as demelo. but Demelo is the better player, the term cap dump isnt correct since the team would be using those guys to patch the holes that trade created while cashing in assets.

It depends on ur opinion of the prospects involved. And I argued for removing the DeMelo/Holl part of the deal. But for Scheifele alone this isn’t a bad framework. It needs work, but I understand the idea. That’s all I’m saying.
