Canucks lose the already established NHL player, and a high ceiling prospect for two projects who both have requested trades out of New York

Well this AGM has been up for a couple of hours now so I guess it's time to respond as it doesn't look like this AGM will get many comments.

First off, I partially agree with you, I wouldn't make this trade if I was Vancouver either (although I think the value is fairly close). I was more so interested to gauge NYR fans opinions on the value of this trade, I suspect they would also say not enough value coming back.

For parts of your statement that I don't agree with:
I don't know that I would say Hoglander is quite NHL established, I would say he's more so teetering, there's a decent chance he doesn't crack the roster come September. He has good upside but I'm not sure I would call him established quite yet.
I would agree that Klimovich has a high ceiling assuming a second line winger would be considered a high ceiling. I also think he is a boom or bust prospect that is more likely to bust than boom. I would also say he is the least likely of any of the players in this trade to establish himself as an NHL player, so I would have no problem moving him in a trade like this, especially if it involved a RD prospect coming back.

Hog and Klim have demonstrated that they are good hockey players and even better people. Lundqvist and Kravtsov have demonstrated that they are entitled twigs. Id rather not

People are forgetting Hoglander had a very good rookie year. Decent production and very good analytics, even defensively. He was one of our best two way forwards. Last year he had a textbook sophomore slump and an unsustainable 6% shooting percentage.

I haven’t forgotten his rookie year and the kid still has good middle six potential, I quite like the kid. That said there’s still a decent chance he doesn’t make the team out of camp this year, not saying he won’t and I hope that he does, but I wouldn’t yet say he’s an established NHL player. It’s not super uncommon for guys to have a single good season or have a good start to a career and then fade and teeter for the rest of their careers, i do not think that’s the case with Hoglander. With that said, established to me is at least two seasons of full time NHL duty without regular scratches or AHL demotions, basically someone that can be counted on year after year to play a regular full time role at the NHL level. Maybe it’s just a difference of opinion on the word “established”.

Just to clarify, I wouldn’t make this trade either. As stated in an above comment I was more so interested in NYR fan’s determination of the value of the trade.
In response to your comments:
Klimovich has not yet demonstrated he is a good hockey player at the NHL or AHL level. Hoglander had a good rookie year but needs to follow that up with strong year this year to demonstrate that he is a decent/good player at the NHL level after last season.
I don’t know enough about NL and VK to say what type of people they are, but it’s not uncommon for players to ask for a new opportunity if they don’t see a path forward with their NHL club. Vancouvers Mike DiPietro requested a trade, and he has a strong reputation of being a very good person and teammate. Trade requests can be made for a variety of different reasons.

Rangers decline. Kravtsov is going to be a big top 9 piece for them this year, and Lundkvist is worth more than Hoglander. Drury hangs up.

Lol Lundkvist is not worth more than Hoglander. This is far from a hang up call.

The only one hanging up is Allvin if offered 2 reclamation projects who both have requested trades for more valuable players

Klimovich isn't more likely to bust than boom. I agree that Hoglander isn't quite NHL established yet, but I'm not worried about his development

Nothing has denied that he is worth that. Canucks simply signed him because your ridicilous Chytil Lundkvist and a first proposals clearly weren't enough to get him

Too bad your Rangers didn't get better over the off-season, we'll see how their trade deadline goes
