Jared has had a bunch of **** takes and get's really pissy when someone has the audacity to disagree with his leafs heavy biased takes. Knuckles just seems to be tired of Jareds ****

And the knuckles dude genuinely said: good or bad isn’t opinion. Then he tried to say, “I’m right because my post got a like.”

He’s insane.

LMAO, you're going to jump on his bandwagon just to be spiteful?

I think he was more so doing it to try and show Jared that more people agree with him but i agree it's kind of a dumb thing to argue about

I'm a big fan of when people go after spelling errors, the most classic of the "i have nothing" internet arguing tropes

Our discussion had nothing to do with the Jared stuff. I said OEL is okay but his contract is bad. He came on and said i was factually incorrect for saying he’s okay.

That’s insanity.

I mean, I get that different calibers of players have different expectations for what their talent ceiling is and what a reasonable baseline performance level is, but once that is established, their is no subjectivity in the evaluation of a certain player's performance

You do not understand the definition of subjective, evaluation, opinion, and performance then.

Best way to get likes here is to disagree with or insult a leafs player or fan

I understand that performance evaluation most certainly isn't subjective in regard to it's impact on in-game play. Different people can value that player's on-ice contributions to different extents, but it doesn't change the actual value of what that player brings on the ice with whatever their tool set is

Just give it up. Nobody is saying OEL is a top pair d man. Nobody is saying he has a good contract. He is perfectly reasonable to say that he is a decent second pair d man with improved defense. Just because you refuse to listen to anybody, doesn't make your opinion right. Tell me how many Canucks games you watched this year

Nah, i just dont listen to people who tell me things like oel being good despite him not being good. Not a fan of giving in to peer pressure.
And dude weve been over the games watched thing. I tell you i watched a lot and you call me a liar because you cant fathom that your eye test stinks, which it does

He really wasnt

21-22 in VAN:
MxkdySzl.png

WAR/60 shows he was pretty solid, with shooting and PP being the only categories where he was below average. EV offense and defense are both above average, which are the most important categories for D men imo

Then looking at his WAR/60 changing over time:
bNllux8l.png

Shows what a lot of people were saying - he was very bad his last year in ARZ and bounced back nicely in 21-22 with VAN. His defense took a big step forward compared to his previous seasons

Then looking at his impact on xG relative to teammates:
QNNoHNUh.png

It shows pretty much the same trend as the WAR/60 shows. Pretty big increase in performance the last year. Plus his 5v5 xGF% was 50.55%, 3rd highest on the team among D, behind only Brad Hunt and Travis Dermott who only played 17 games for them

So he was better than his team mates on one of the worst defensive teams in the league? Being better than luke schenn, tucker poolman and tyler myers isnt a great measuring stick

No, WAR percentiles are among all defensemen in the league, not just Vancouver D men. xG data was the only thing that was relative to his teammates. And VAN was not one of the worst defensive teams in the league - they were 16th in xGA/60 and 2nd in GA/60 at 5v5, and were 8th in GA/GP in all situations
