Why? Kaut would likely be an everyday NHLer for them this season, whereas Desnoyers probably only becomes a good AHLer or callup option.

You might say that Philadelphia could claim Kaut on waivers if he gets sent down by Colorado but I doubt he'd pass Arizona and Seattle, especially Arizona since their head scout was the one who drafted Kaut and their forward group sucks.

Doesn't matter if Couts is hurt or not, hard to believe that the Flyers would be a playoff team either way.

I think Desnoyer is in a position where he might make the team. He got a lot of looks last year in preseason last year coaches like him. So probably no.

Anyone could make that team, Phi is awful.

Kaut looks like a miss. Desnoyers could still be a player. He was just on Canada in the WJC. I'd rather keep the younger player with less proven lack of success. The Flyers don't need to make a move because someone might be more likely to make the roster this season. They have plenty of wings.
