Its amazing to see leaf fans think that Kerfoot and Holl are worthless and can be traded for nothing, or worse even have to pay a team to take them! They are not top of the lineup players sure, but useful depth pieces nonetheless. Kerfoot had 51 points last year playing all over the lineup, with a majority of those points 5on5. I would be the first to criticize Holl normally, but after a rough start last year playing with Muzzin, his play improved with different partners and he played a solid PK. Not bad for a bottom pair D.

I guess some really believe the trolls on capfriendly, that is the only explanation I can come up with.

For cap reasons....the Leafs might have to give Kerfoot away. Has nothing to do with Kerfoot's value on the ice. Look what Vegas had to do with Pacioretty to get 7m off their cap...gave him away. Look what Patches production was....in the past two years the same as Nylander...pro rated to games played.

So, let's not confuse Patches or Kerfoot's trade value and on ice value. Two entirely different things.

IMO, there are more "troll" posts when Leaf (or any team) have 20 or 21 man rosters, just trying to fit the cap or putting a healthy player on LTIR (Muzzin for example) just to satisfy the cap.

Vegas was super over the cap though, TO isn't, they can run a 20 man roster and be compliant. Which makes it a different story. Columbus gave away a guy for a 3rd because they also had to drop cap and he had major term. Too much for what he was worth if you as me. Kerfoot is a good contract. It doesn't have term and he will be sought after at the deadline. He has value.

But the IMO, you can't run a 20 man roster. Yes Kerfoot and others probably have more trade value at TDL because their cap for 22/23 is small. But the Leafs who still should be playoff and Cup wouldn't be trading Kerfoot at TDL. I just don't see how the Leafs can have enough cap to keep Kerfoot, unless by miracle a high cap player is on LTIR for awhile. And does a team want an impressive player (meaning good player) on LTIR for a long time, and replaced with 800.000 player?

Hey Leafs fans, explain to me why the appropriate cap space hasn't been opened to re-sign Sandin? Next time, do so before accusing me of putting up a troll post, because if Kerfoot still had trade value, he'd have been moved by now
