Pass, Yzerman already said at his presser. That he's not surrendering 2023 picks. If anything he's looking at acquiring more. Not trading Soderblom for 3 years of Chychrun. Chychrun is too rich for our blood.

I think I came up with a reasonable package, maybe change the 2023 1st to the 2024 1st

As of right now, Elmer Soderblom, Theodor Niederbach and our 2023 1st round pick are definitely off the table.

Niederbach doesn't have that high of a ceiling. Soderblom's skating is a question mark

Niederbachs ceiling is a 3C which is what we drafted him for, And for a 6'8" man Elmer's skating is just fine.

Elmer is looking great in these 2 days of training camp, He should definitely help in GR. If Datsyuk hadn't screwed us and walked off on the team. Chychrun would be playing in Detroit right now. instead of being screwed over with Dennis Cholowski and Hronek would be elsewhere.

I wouldn't give that 1st or Söderblom. Especially with some of the LHD prospects they have. Now I know not all of them will pan out but there is no reason to give up a bunch of assets for a player you don't know if you even need. There is a good reason you don't hear the media talking about Chychrun to Detroit and that's because Yzerman isn't interested in paying what AZ want for Chychrun. Yzerman is rebuilding the right way and it takes time and patients. But when Detroit becomes a playoff team and starts to compete Yzerman will still have a ton of assets to get the player or players they actually need.

You do realize that really isn't very accurate his play in the prospects tournament has shown he is a lot closer than Detroit thought. If you don't believe me the prospects camp, the prospect tournament and even some action from the first couple days of training is all on YouTube. Check it out.

I wasn't talking about timeline, I was talking about performance ceiling

Not criticizing Yzerman's patient method, but guys like Chychrun don't become available that often

I made it pretty clear, Datsyuk left the team with a year left in his contract. To be closer to his daughter in Russia instead of playing his last season out. Holland already had commitments from both Mike Green and Frans Nielsen so we had to move Datsyuks contract and when jakob Chychrub fell to 16th Detroit's picks Arizona took Chychrun and Datsyuk and we got their 21st and 32nd picks for Cholowski and Hronek and one of their cap dumps.

Maybe Holland is still GM of the Red Wings if Datsyuk didn't pull off that stunt

No not for team rebuilding and let's be honest he good but not that good. Major hype for a player who often injuries.

Way overpayment.. Arizo a is asking for a 1st a prospect and a player. This is 2 good propsects, one decent t propsect one young defensman and a 1st.

Then why the hell hasn't Chychrun been dealt if it takes less to get him?

Because it is what they might want, not arguement there, it is just that Wings are not paying it. Yzerman has a plan and in the presser this week he stated he is not trading 20w3 picks and in reality wants more. If that is the plan ca not see him dealing a 2023 pick.

Elmer & 2023 1st are not on the table for any player that is currently on the trade market.

The red wings are in no position to be making this sort of trade anyhow.
