I think a 3 year makes sense — wait for Benn’s deal to expire to give Robertson a full pay raise

Bridge does make sense imo

Do we know what JRob is asking for? Is it term or money that the team is balking at?

Dallas wants a bridge. Robertson and his agent Brisson want a long-term deal.

Give him 8 years at 8.5-9 million now or bridge him for 3 years then he’s gonna cost 12 million. Seems like a no brainer to lock him up now but what do I know? Especially when you consider Segs money being around for a long time and the likelihood of at least one or two of Wyatt, Stank, Bourque, Nils, or Harley having breakout seasons in the next 2-3 years. Stank does the same thing JRob does and he’s looking for a fat contract after his ELC and you’re in a spot with 22 million tied up in JRob and Segs

Darren Dreger

Nill wants bridge, Robertson/Brisson wants long term. Both sides dug in but amicable talks continue.

Good deal. Would think JRob would want the bridge. 12 million per 3 years from now isn’t at all unrealistic

Totally with you on that. It makes more sense for the Stars financially to sign Robo long term now. Like you said they’d be saving so much money. May have to find a home for Khudobin if that’s the case which will be hard, cause he hasn’t looked good
