TOR - BOS, I've seen this movie before like 3 times recently. Doesn't it end with Boston winning in 7?

Honestly, all we need to see is TOR getting past the first round.

Understandable but I do believe if they make it out of the first round they’ll be making it to the finals they’ll have to much excitement and momentum, the finals can go either way obviously, doesn’t really matter who we run into it’s a whole new animal with whole new pressures, no idea what would happen then

Actually that's the worst possible SCF. The league wants at least one American team. Two Canadian teams will do nothing to attract the casual non hockey fan sports fan in the States.

Still there will be more views than the last 3 SCFs combined

You're vastly underestimating the draw of marketable stars like McDavid and Matthews.

Why not? From the coaching change until the end of the season (38 games), only Florida had a better winning percentage. They have as good a chance as anyone of being the top seed in the West. Their roster is broadly similar (added Holloway) but they've solidified goaltending.

And they were the team that came closest to matching Colorado in the playoffs too. And Colorado has lost several significant pieces in the offseason, so expecting them to come out of the West in the playoffs isn't unreasonable either.

Sure. You do realize that Edmonton's starter, Mike Smith, played injured in that series, right? And that the injuries are so severe that they've effectively ended his career?

If you look at how Colorado performed against each team they met in the postseason, only one really challenged them at 5v5. Here are Colorado's stats in each series:

vs NAS: 59.66 xGF%, 62.69 SCF%, 56.58 HDCF%
vs STL: 59.84 xGF%, 62.93 SCF%, 62.89 HDCF%
vs EDM: 53.28 xGF%, 53.03 SCF%, 46.07 HDCF%
vs TBL: 60.57 xGF%, 60.20 SCF%, 56.73 HDCF%

Edmonton is the anomaly. As for Colorado's vaunted defense, here's how many high danger chances they allowed from each opponent:

NAS: 9.95 HDCA/60
STL: 6.89 HDCA/60
EDM: 15.06 HDCA/60
TBL: 9.00 HDCA/60

Again Edmonton is the anomaly. Now realize that Colorado got much weaker over the summer, while Edmonton got stronger. They're as much a contender as anyone right now.

Oilers were worse than Avs in every category, and got swept tears of joy ! Keep telling yourself what you need but truth hurts I guess. Oilers benefit from playing in the weakest conference, but as soon as (if) they get out - they’re done.
How did Oil get better? Smith / Koskinen had better save % than Campbell / Mrazek during reg season & playoffs and Leafs are a better defensive team than oil (that d corps is preposterous).
Love Soupy but if you’re counting on him being the difference, um… no.

The Avs were better than the Oilers in 2 of the 3 categories, but (a) it was close, (b) since then they've lost key contributors while (c) Edmonton is a stronger team than last year. This isn't a particularly difficult concept, not sure why it's causing you so much mental consternation.

How did the Oilers get better? Dylan Holloway, Jack Campbell, Stuart Skinner, full seasons of Kulak and Kane is a good start.

And finally, Toronto has absolutely nothing to do with this, I'm not sure why you can't defend your position without resorting to obfuscation.
