Him playing only 10 minutes isn't a great sign for him staying in the NHL. They probably just want to give him a taste before sending him down. Top line minutes in the AHL > bottom line minutes in the NHL at this point in his development.

MSL said that his low TOI was due to the special team being on the ice for quite some time during the game. Also said that he would do something to up his TOI, he didnt look too bad but if he plays against top lines and is getting overwhelmed that isnt really developement but moreso getting thrown to the wolves. he prob gets some pp time on 2nd line. but his TOI was low due to special teams being out there quite often.

His icetime was fine for his first career game especially since he isnt touch either side of special teams yet, I'm not saying he will spend the entire season up but he certainly will be playing the first run of games, not sure if they will want to burn a year of his ELC or not, but he looked solid last night, made several good defensive plays in his own end. If last night is the benchmark and he can continue to improve over the next few weeks i wouldnt be shocked if he stays up.

Also he played well enough defensively to show he isn't being thrown to the wolves. That backcheck on Mathews in the third, where he tied him up from behind likely saved a goal.

Deja Vu of everyone defending KK, he needs a year in the AHL too build his confidence in North America ice.

I never said he didn’t, I just said defensively he was fine. Offensively he needs more TOI, which MSL said was his fault but he could/should get at least half a season in Laval first.
