Says who? Zero chance oilers would look at this offer suggesting a 4th is beyond silly.

they like to carry water for the Org, but the Edmonton Media is who said that. It was in the context if they can get a 3rd rounder for him that the Oilers would be happy
They want a 2nd, no team is giving them that, so they would have to settle between a 3rd and 5th is the gist

If that's the case and there is no market at all wouldn't Edmonton be better off just not qualifying him next offseason and letting walk? At least use him for this year and buy time for bourgault to Crack the line up.

IMO both sides just need a clean break from one another, yes there is a chance he flourishes away from Edmonton, there is a chance oilers dont get full value for him, but that this rate its unhealhty to hold onto him tyring to squeeze out a mid round pick.

Who would you be better with? Bourgault who likely wants to play or Pul who's going to half-ass his way through the season.

Sounds more like a lose-lose situation rather than a win-win one.

At this point, his value is at an all-time low, all GM's know whats going on and nobody is willing to overpay for a lazy player.

Looking more and more like the next Yakupov.

Think calling him a lazy player is very wild... certainly not something that's ever crossed my mind watching him. Keep Jesse until bourgault proves he's ready. Moving for the sake of moving is destructive towards the teams depth and it's not deep enough on the right side to be making pointless moves. Jesse has proven over the years to be very very useful disrupting plays why throw that away.

Hold onto him because he makes the team better than any internal replacement right now. It's not ideal but I'd be much happier holding onto for the rest of this year and just let walk. Buys time for bourgault who is a reasonable future replacement. Only two games into the season when the injury bug begins to really hit will be happy have Jesse around more than a mid to late round pick....

The injury bug is probably what will force the trade. Already a tight cap situation playing a limit roster, team will be playing short handed lost nights if they aren’t ltir injuries.

That’s my guess, once a team suffers an injury they will be more inclined to pay the oilers ask and the oilers will get the cap breathing room they ultimately will need

I don’t think the oilers should trade him bc he’s a good player but imo it’s probably the best for both sides ultimately
