Timo Meier is getting a hell of a lot more than 8 x $7,500,000 try more like 8 x $8,500,000 to 8 x $9,000,000 and that package isn't even close to nabbing Meier.

The Sabres don't need Hoffman. They have too many forwards now, and they have several more first round picks, that were forwards, coming. Montreals best bet would be to play him so that he can prove that he can still score goals (if he can), and then trade him at the deadline, retained if necessary. His goals are trending the wrong way, I don't know if he's still a one trick pony, but my guess is it's going to be tough to move him. He's gotta produce, then pick a team that can use him. Not buffalo.

as a habs fan, sure several of the trade are one side which makes sense given the title however, what i'm concerned with is in what world would you dream of signing caufield to a 3 year bridge at 7 mil? is that just hoping he becomes ever more expensive when he signs long term?
