That's a really bad trade for Carolina. Loustarinen is solid, but Carolina don't need more forwards. The entire point of moving Bear is to open up a roster spot for when Pacioretty is activated in 6 weeks or so (according to the Bally Sports crew, I know originally it said February). This is at best a lateral move, and Loustarinen isn't as valuable as Bear is. The 6th doesn't change it.

Finally, an idea I haven't seen done to death on ACGM. Luostarinen would fit nicely on that 4th line, and Bear would take pressure off of Carlsson/Kierstad, without coming at an exorbitant sum.

I like it.

Luostarinen sits in the press box for the Canes (again) - trading one issue for another and the 6th is nothing. He’s a good player but this doesn’t solve any issues for the Canes. A depth RHD is more valuable than a 14 or 15th forward. Canes have 4-5 waiver exempt forwards in Chicago that could play on 4th line if necessary. Our 4th line center right now is Paul Stasney.

Loustarinen is better than like 3 of your players. Panthers decline this trade.

I will say that Fast is better than Lou, but there isn’t a point in arguing over the fringes…which was actually my point. None of this is clear, and it means it’s kinda a move to make a move.

Agreed. Lou has only been getting better each season and playing well. I wouldn’t trade him unless it’s for a really good d man. I’d take bear but I wouldn’t give more than a 2nd for him.
