Take out the doughty retention and kings 3rd rounder. Add amirov and a 2024 first on Torontos side and its a deal. Doughty is not a cap dump.

Kings fans never trade Doughty in our threads, but Leafs do, and every time it has comments on how Doughty is washed up.

I don't see Doughty waiving his NMC to where Leaf fans would eat him alive, Doughty's number is getting retired in LA and he has a competent d partner and an team with a bright future. Aside from the Kings being much worse after this trade, I don't see why Doughty would even waive to Toronto.

In fairness here, Muzzin also doesn't waive his full NTC to leave his home town team.

Wouldn't LA rather retire Holl's number

I actually agree, Toronto is his best place to win another cup, LA might be good enough in a year or so.

Still, if I were Muzzin I'd get the heck out of there, he has definitely become a scapegoat for Leaf issues with some of the fanbase. He may not be worth his contract, but he was fine during the playoffs.

I mean, has there ever been a Leaf that (some of) the fanbase hasn't turned into a scapegoat? I feel like the only time it doesn't happen is when the team legitimately sucks, which is when we find out which "Boyd Devereaux du Jour" is going to end up on a pedestal.

He was the leafs best d-man in the playoffs, the issue is his health. Muzzin is walking a thin line with his future life quality.
