The FRP in this is conditional: The pick would only be transferred if Kane resigns. If Kane doesn't resign, the FRP becomes a 2RP in 2023 + a 2RP in 2024

Gotta add if you want them to take Zaitsev........a conditional first covers that. Greig isn't enough for Kane. This might have been close to getting it done if Z didn't have another year on the books.

Trades cannot be made conditional on a player resigning. It's been like that for a while now.

It'll take a first just to get Chicago to take on 2 years of cap dump Zaitsev and it'll take more than Greig to get Kane.

It's that the change they have made in the last convention agreement between NHL and NHLPA ??

Because I remember that was one of the condition to few trade in the past.
