David Savard another 1st

Created by: OlegP
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 28, 2022
Published: Oct. 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He's having a Ben Chiarot type of start to the season with top pair minutes, points and mentoring of Kaiden Guhle. Chiarot did a lot less and so began the hype that turned him into a 1st unprotected, 4th and a prospect. Savard's contract is a better bargain than the Wings paid on the open market for Big Ben.

David Savard was already traded for a 1st and 3rd at the 2021 TDL so we know how GMs feel about the guy. MSL is saying nothing but praise for Savard. The hype seems to be building and with an increasing cap, it's hard to imagine he wont fetch a HUGE price at the TDL if Hughes wants to deal. I'm thinking one of Edmundson or Savard will be gone by the TDL. They cant trade both guys with that young blue line. Without any trade protection teams like Ottawa and Winnipeg can actually get on the bidding as well which will up the price. RHD value is simply through the roof and Hughes is all about this coming draft!

He's up near the top of the league in blocked shots. If he keeps the offense numbers rolling we could maybe get a first if we package a late second with him to a desperate team.

Problem is that he's going to get worn down eventually with these big minutes and blocks. He's been covering up a lot of miscues from the forwards. Absolutely beast back there. Your current price would be a 'Bear' price. The TDL balloons value with teams cap space accumulating. His contract is very good w/another 2 years @ 3.5M with no trade protection

Holy over value. His contract is not good and he’s old and slow. He might have positive value but a first alone is a huge overpay

Zegras is closer to be worth a 3rd round pick in the 2023 draft than a 1st round pick in the 2023 draft …
That’s how bad your statement is

any team that trades big picks for Edmundson and Savard will be seriously disappointed and overpay heavily. Much like Florida and Chiarot. But ill get a good laugh out of it.

They are all pylons who look better because their current system doesnt require them to skate.

ring ring
Pierre Dorion: "Hello?"
Kent Hughes: "Hey Pierre!"
PD: "Hey Kent what's going on"
KH: "man have I ever got a deal for you. How do you feel about David Savar-"
PD: "no."
KH: "hold on hold on, let me finish. I promise this is worth your while"
PD: "fine, what do you propose"
KH: "David Savard, for Tyler Bou-"
dial tone
KH: "damn I never even got to ask for the 1st round pick too"

SOG 24-3 for the Cats vs the 'pesky' Sens in the 1st peirod. That Hamonic and Zaitsev on the right side looks great. Enjoy the embarrassment

Oh yeah a simple google search is too difficult to find out Savard was already traded for a 1st and 3rd in 2021. But lets deal in anecdotes gone wild

Bingo. The mental gymnastics of some folks that work things in their own head then write something completely different yet stand by it in 4K.

He tried to correct something coherent by saying he was incoherent. Which only makes you look irrational in the best case scenario. The logic of some ppl on this site.

Tie game though.

Also adding a horrific Dman doesn't help this?

Better than putrid Hamonic/Zaitsev unless you think Cup Champs like TB didnt have room for Savard

Yeah, sure I'd take him over Zaitsev, but you don't honestly believe he's still the same level of player he was in Tampa, right?

these people are just delusional, thinking that their 32nd place season with most of their players being absolutely horrid all season (including Savard) has somehow not tanked their trade value since playing with the best team in the league at the time

so because he overpaid for after being on a top-end team, and then had a truly and utterly terrible season on a bad team, now his value is somehow higher? yeah sure buddy that's how trades work. Maybe I can interest you in Nick Suzuki for Derick Brassard, he was once traded for Mika Zibanejad
