Dumba almost certainly wouldn’t cost that much. 1st and Holl prolly gets it done. Guerins been quietly shopping him for awhile now without much interest.

He'll just be the next guy that gets chased out of town probably.

Yeah I could see it. Kinda feel like Dubas and Guerin would want to wait until closer to TDL, but if we both keep underperforming relative to expectations, something may have to happen sooner.

I would explore it. Especially if there is a potential extension that can be worked out. As if Muzzin aint coming back makes sense

Yeah I’m curious what his ask will be. IMO, he’s really not worth more than like a 4x4.5M, but we all know GMs can get loose with the wallets regarding RHD.

Like if his ask is close to his current contact, I’d caution every o team in the league against it.

Dumba probably wants something in the 8mill range

I think based on what we have seen guys like Weegar, Sanheim, Pulock, and Parayko sign for 6.5-7mill would be what I look at but with Free agency being a spending frenzy someone would probs go here's 8.5mill

Jeez, you’re probably right but dang. That would be rough. He’s not awful, but Brodin has been carrying him for years.

Feels like a mistake waiting to happen.

I feel 6.5mill x 6 years is where I would go with him but after seeing guys like Jones and Nurse get overpaid by 2mill hes gonna go yeah but what about me

Meh, he’d be a clear upgrade from Holl.

I don't think so, I'm not a big analytics guy, but just comparing their oiGA/60, Dumba is just as bad on the season. He will be under immense pressure being under the microscope in Toronto especially if he's coming in to "save" the Leafs from Holl.

Holl's minutes need to be significantly reduced, hopefully Liljegren can take the next step when he returns.

You could be right, I haven’t seen Dumba play much or anything, everyone just says he’s really good. And at this point I think the leafs just need a change up or something, because it just isn’t working.

MN's goalies giving up 20 goals in the first 3 games tanked everyone's GA stats.

Fair enough, but they are still comparable over the last 4 seasons in that particular stat. I just don't see Dumba coming in and shutting things down especially since he's going to have a lot of pressure as the "big ticket" acquistion. Overall I'm sure Dumba would be an upgrade but probably not in the desired aspects.

Dumba is better than him offensively for sure, but I think defensively he's probably not too much better if at all for it to be the type of upgrade that fans would want.

Ya, I see your point. Do you think. Mayfield might be a better option?

Definitely, defensively sound guy, low cap hit, and it might not even cost a first to acquire him if he becomes available. There could also be the possibility that he resigns if he works well in the system.

Yah I feel like Mayfield would be a good target. The thing is though, Lou probably isn’t going to want to give him up, and certainly not to Toronto, so I don’t agree that he could be had for less than a first (at least for Toronto).

It's a waiting game now, perhaps they have internal solutions in Liljegren and or Benn.
