I think,
- replace that 1st and Gritsyuk with Holtz and
- ensure there is a long-term extension in place with an AAV not exceeding 8.5m
... for me to be ok with going after Meier.

You're gonna have to give more than two scrubs and a first for Timo. Replace Walsh/Gritsyuk with Holtz (Eklund's bff) and maybe you have enough for a deal

We just signed Bratt for $8.5 million.
And we spend $9 million on Meier?

And poor Yegor with his lowly $4.2 million.


Bratt $7.5m to $8m on max term deal
Meier $6.5m to $7.25m on 5-year deal
Sharangovich $4.5m to $5m on 4 year-deal

There’s no way that’s close to the ballpark for Meier . He’s getting Forsberg type money and Nashville has low tax too.

Can’t see any of those players accepting these deals. Maybe Bratt if he doesn’t finish the season strong

Over the summer, people were saying Forsberg gets $10m+, Gaudreau $11m+. I took arrows for saying $8m and $9.5m respectively. Some had Burokovsky well above $7m (he got $5.5m). Marchment above $5m, got $4.5m. And so on.

Maybe Meier gets above $8m if he hits open market, but in that case, there would be no trade. And if there are any reasons to pay Meier more than Bratt or Forsberg, we haven’t seen them yet.
