Boston are stuck, and they need to pay to get out. They need $4M more cap space to bring McAvoy back into the lineup. They waived both these guys and had no takers, so they'll need to pay. So I think this is a trade that they would rather not make, but they need to do something, and it will be uncomfortable.

For what it’s worth the bruins no longer have to make a move to activate mcavoy because your boy forbort is out 4-6 weeks.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that, but if you mean guys that are just strictly defense, yes. I’m sure you know how good hampus lindholm is defensively, and Charlie mcavoy might be the best defensive player in the NHL.

Amazing how that always works out so conveniently for American teams. The minute they need cap space to activate someone who's on LTIR another player magically needs to go on LTIR.

Magically? Forbort broke his hand and had to have surgery.

What does this have to do with American teams?
