Canucks aren’t giving up Demko for that. 2023 1st and a top prospect minimum. Or Nemec

Nothing of interest for the Canucks in that deal

I've said it a few times.
NJD 2023 1st and Mercer for Demko (Mercer to fill the hole left by Horvat)

Nemec, a young roster player and two unprotected 1sts would be my ask. Otherwise why in the world would the Canucks do this??

No top prospect, no 2023 first.

This is quantity and barely any quality

Not sure I’d want the Devils to trade a king’s ransom for Demko when he’s apparently one of the 5 worst performing goalies in the NHL as of now.

Off-season move. Would be after 2023 draft.

Still no reason for the Canucks to do this though. No high end pieces. And if they moved Demko it would probably be around the 2023 draft to acquire a 1st+

Don't see why the Canucks would trade Demko AFTER the draft. Our management team seems to value this draft

Bold ask. In the entire NHL history in cap era, has anyone, let alone a goalie, ever revived such a haul?

Here, they get one 1st, one 2nd, a goalie, a good goalie prospect and a RD prospect who will be NHL-ready.

Seemed like more of a summer move. If the 2023 pick is after top-10 or so, I don’t think it would matter much to NJD.

That means it’s a good time to buy.

I simply don't see Demko being traded for anything but an absolute overpay. If you look at some of the comments our president Rutherford has made, he loves Demko. He views him as a franchise goalie and basically indirectly said he is the only person keeping our team relevant.

It also means a bad time for Vancouver to sell

If they sell Demko, I imagine wholesale changes are made. Probably too early with current leadership to blow it up. So this is all probably just ACGM fodder anyway.
