Isles aren’t trading Parise. The Palmieri trade doesn’t make sense considering he has an NTC, and tbh I don’t think either team would do it anyway. Also that’s a massive overpay for Tarasenko with no retention.

Parise and Palms have been great this year, no need to replace them. I’d like another LHD upgrade but I don’t think Mikkola is better than either Aho or Salo and he’s more expensive.

Tarasenko I could be open to at the TDL, but I do worry about the cost.

Parise has been great, I wouldn’t say the same about Palmieri. Most of the time he looks like a 4th line grinder.

Palmieri doesn't fit our timeline but we can take on another contract of another winger like Josh Bailey

We could take on Bailey or Palmieri for a 1st yes. Not getting Barabanov and dumping salary on us for nothing

-Not sure why the Islanders would be dumping Parise for a late pick. He costs nothing and he's playing great - 16:37 every night including 2:31 of PK time (second on the team behind Pageau) for a squad that's killing 90%+ of their penalties. If the team is going to keep playing well and be in contention, Parise and his $750K cap hit will be a big part of it.

-If you're paying for retention on Tarasenko, why not go all in? The amount of real dollar difference over the last 20 games isn't going to be enough to make a huge difference in the retention cost, IMO. I'd also argue that this is a ton to give up, futures-wise, for a team that has a pretty bare cupboard of prospects. Bolduc & Holmstrom are arguably 2 of the top 5 or 6 prospects in the org, plus a 1st/3rd/lottery ticket in Ljungkratz? I'd argue Tarasenko's package probably comes in close to what Giroux got last year, since he's got a full NTC and can control his destination. Giroux got a 1st/3rd/young roster player - so I'd say Holmstrom/1st/3rd would be close to that value, and then maybe throw in someone from outside the team's top 10 prospects that the Blues like. This is emptying too much of the cupboard for a rental.

-Right off the bat, Palmieri blocks this deal - he's from Long Island, he has a newborn here, he's not going 3000 miles away for the next 2+ seasons. Beyond that, the Sharks are pretty much capped out too, so I don't see how they're swinging this contract, so this is, pardon the pun, dead in the water.
