I think this is a solid move. We would need to trade either Yamo or Pulj though when Kane gets back.

Not sure if he has to go on waivers again after passing through many times now, however yes I do think the Bruins would be fine giving him to you for free with the return of McAvoy soon.

They can't spend Kane's cap. He is coming back likely. They can pick up smaller contracts that can be buried though.

They can spend Kanes cap, it just means in 3-4 months upon his return they will have to trade the equivalent of Reillys cap away ie Yam or JP or Foegele +

In my opinion EDMs biggest need is defensive depth and they don't appear inclined to deal Barrie at this point. So adding Reilly takes minutes away from Nurse and Kulak which is a good thing.

4 months basically puts you at the TDL (march 3rd). That is a risky game to play with your cap, the window to move him is small and why would the oilers paint themselves into a corner cap wise. teams arent goign to just take 3m off the books for cheap.

Thats a really odd question, every EDM dman has had good games and bad. My concern is the depth of the D isn't good, Nemo & Murray are 7th dman imo, Broberg is not currently contributing and its hard to assume he can contribute much this season after such a poor start. If EDM added Reilly a good 4-6 dman they would be a deeper 6 man unit.

How's Ceci looking, is he really a 1st liner? How's Barrie and Kulak looking? Sounds like Broberg isn't pulling his weight yet and needs more time in the AHL.

if it was easy to trade puljujarvi or other players for cap relief it would have been done already. Dumping cap would cost draft picks and even more so when they are forced to do it.

nurse bouchard and ceci are playing the correct positions. They need a 2LD to push kulak down to 3rd pairing.

The problem is edmonton already has mediocre defensemen they need a real quality player.

options are:
1)Keith Unretires then retires when kane comes back.
2) trade for someone like joel edmundson in a medium cost deal.
3) wait to see if chychrun isnt broken forever and take a huge risk on a perpetually injured player if he can get back to some playing form.

Yamo scored 20 last year. He is a streaky player.

I know what he did last year, but honestly he looks the least likely of scoring 20 at this point.
