People are saying he's a bust now people are saying he's untouchable wth

Does 23 pts in 31 games from a 20 year old rookie Dman in the AHL last year sound like a bust to you? Perhaps you ought to come to your own conclusion based off of existing evidence rather than outsourcing your understanding of players to "people".

The guy has been injured for the past 2 months and now he's a bust? That's not reasonable.

No one's not calm. We responded to your questioning of the state of Broberg's value by offering evidence and opinions regarding why you shouldn't entertain the view that a 21 year old Dman coming off a strong rookie year in the AHL is a bust.


And yet their ability to contribute to the transition and offense is also a vital aspect of evaluating their overall impact. Or is that a statement you disagree with?

As for evidence supporting his defensive play, what I can tell you is the fact that he was relied upon heavily as a go-to Dman in all situations for a solid AHL team last year and he was on the go-to shutdown D pairings of two Swedish WJC teams. My opinion is that his defense isn't perfect (struggled in his first callup, was notably better in his 2nd), but that's more of a learned skill over time, anyway. He's a big body and he skates very well so he has the physical tools to develop into a stout defender. What conclusions you derive from that information is up to you.
