Description
This is unlikely and the trade (if it happened) would likely be much different. Either revolving around keeping the defense the best in the league or improving the top six with a possibility to recoup some of the lost value that Toews has over whoever we trade for. I see it as 90/10 Avs cant sign Toews so this is a preemptive move that Sakic was known for, time will tell if McFarland runs things the exact same way.

I know Toews is really good but to think the Jets would add a 1st to Scheifele is ridiculous.

How on earth is Winnipeg adding a first to retention on a consistent PPG 1C?

Jets cant do that. Take out the retention and then add a mid pick and sure. But a first too? Nahhh

The other posters are right about the Scheifle trade, and I don’t think Byram signs a max length deal under any circumstances especially if you believe the whispers he wants to be a #1 guy.

Byram doesn’t land that type of deal out of his ELC.

Got a source? Take it from someone who knows, Bo dgaf about that. He's is very open about still honing his craft. Don't get me wrong, every elite guy wants to be a number 1 but, Makar being there isnt going to cause him to force ufa as early as possible or play a role in the amount of years he wants after his elc.

I only heard it once and it was either on a HMH podcast or the PDO one. It was just once but it obviously stuck in my head, but the way it was presented made me think but I agree I think the only thing about cares about is winning.
