NSH and VAN what do you think

Created by: Mediumyeet
Team: 2022-23 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 14, 2022
Published: Nov. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Both teams get a shake up. Given Nashville's age of their top players they are kind of in win now mode even though they've struggled out of the gates this year. Gives them a more offensive punch and some extra salary room for this season with salary being a wash the next few seasons.

Gives Canucks a defensively responsible right hand C with less term.

As a Canucks Fan I'd do it simply for term considerations

Nashville doesn’t want or need Miller and why waste what will be a good pick in a good draft. Easy Decline

I’m saying this more from a team perspective rather than a value perspective, as the value is fine for Miller

Keep seeing these sorts of trades, Miller is still on for like 78 points, has his value really fallen that much?

That's rhetorical but I know for a fact there are other GMs stupid enough to part with more.

It's the fact that he's signed until he's David Poile's age.

Thought process is NSH is tied for 5th fewest goals for in the league. Miller should provide an improvement on that over Johansen. As for the 7year extension, NSH top players are all aging in Forsberg, Duchene, Josi, Granlund, Ekholm, Mcdonaugh. They probably have a very short window to win (if there is any window at all) so they might not worry too much about years 4-7 of the Miller extension and hope they can capitalize in the first few years as the money is the same as Johansen until after the 24-25 season anyways.
