Happens during 22-23 season. Saw this on another post. JT is still a point-per-game player but VAN is in no position to have a guy like him right now. Maybe a team closer to contending (NSH) makes more sense.

Can't take credit for it but I can see the reasoning. Such a bummer because of what JT could have returned at the last TDL but certainly not a nothing return here either

No kidding, one of the more interesting proposals I’ve seen on here.

Johansen is such a hard player to evaluate but I could see an universe where this works. I see that Miller contract aging poorly and I don’t think Nashville is a contender though, so I wouldn’t want to do it if I’m them. Interesting nonetheless though.

I do still think WSH would need to add a pick of some sort. Miller is the younger and better player, understood his contract is longer too but I still think WSH needs to add. Plus the fact that Schenn recoups a 3rd/4th by himself. Might need to be a Miller for Carlson+2nd and then Schenn for a 4th.

    All together,
    Miller+Schenn for Carlson+2nd+4th

Ottawa accepts if the Myers-Zaitsev trade is done right now.

Carlson is 32 and not a defensive defenseman. No fit there

Ottawa is more likely to accept that trade if you take Myers out of the trade and replace him with future considerations.

Hmm why? That seems like a v fair deal unless I am wildly underestimating Behrens' value?

Best D prospect plus their first pick for a rental they can't sign and a healthy scratch or at best 6th D (for the Avs) is not a fair deal for the Avs. I'm not arguing value per se. More the fact that as Avalanche and most neutral fans have been saying repeatedly.....it's just a bad fit.

No, I actually think it makes sense for both teams. Johansen has 3 years left at 8MM. He allows Vancouver to transition to a younger team. Miller has more options in Nashville and is an improvement at Center. Forsberg and Miller could look good.
