Another Kane trade from a non Ranger or Hawk fan

Created by: KDev
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 22, 2022
Published: Nov. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Was talking to my buddy rangers fans and they were talking about how they want Patrick Kane. We agreed this could be a fair price. I think any Kane deal starts with Kakko or Laf. 0 chance they’d move Laf but I feel like with how Kakko progression has really stalled they may entertain moving him. Y’all have Othmann anyway who looks like a stud.

Yes, NYR traded Buchnevich for Blais. That was bad.
J.T. Miller tosed in the McDonagh trade, and only have Hajek to show for it, awful.
But I really hope NYR doesn't do that.

Value is there on the Kane trade, but i think Chicago made it very clear last summer all they want for their players is draft picks, not prospects or young players.

I'd do that without hesitating, but I'm higher on Kakko than most people. He reminds me of Marian Hossa.

MTL has their own cap issues, are they a realistic 3rd team here? Someone like ARI makes more sense I think.

Arizona have plenty of their own UFA to retain on for wayyyyy better picks

honestly hawks probably prefer a strait picks/prospects deal over Kakko

So y’all would seriously turn down a former 2nd OA who’s still young with potential vs another pick likely in the 20s? That’s crazy imo.

Yep. At some point a guys draft position doesn't matter as much any more, and I think by year 4 it's that time. Maybe he turns it around like Dach in MTL, but I don't think tanking CHI is where he's going to do that. NYR can keep Kravtsov and Kakko and we'll take othman or another 1st instead
