The key is finding a team willing to give a 1st for Monahan.

I can see Colorado wanting Monahan. But they would not give up Compher to do it. I DOUBT Montreal gets a first for Monahan. 2nd or 2nd + seems probable though.

Living in CGY, I definitely have some good Monny memories. As much of a tear as he's been on, hard to say that's what we'll get especially at the cost of a key swiss-army player and a late first.

When healthy, Rodriguez has been able to pull off what I'd expect from Monny at this point, so even at 50% retention, it's still pricier for someone we have already. I get the logic of a deal with the Avs though. We gotta cash in on that last year of a 6 mil Mack and ELC Byram/Newhook.

This is a bad trade for them

They aren’t moving a 1st for monahan nor are they getting rid of compher in the process
