That pick is looking more and more like a glorified second round pick.

Can't see SJS doing this.

this isn’t a bad offer, but it is underwhelming.
we know Walsh isn’t a highly rated prospect being 23 and like 5th on your RD depth chart.
and we kind of know what Sharangovich is.
plus that 1st being mid to high 20’s diminishes its value a bit.
if Meier agrees to that contract it would be smarter for the sharks to just keep him.
if we did opt to trade Meier it’s going to be at the deadline and sharks i feel will want either multiple firsts or a 1st and a top prospect.

Fair points. I just wonder if Timo wants to stay in SJ? Has there been any indication of that?

it’s kind of muddy right now, hasn’t said he wants to go, hasn’t said he wants to stay. I am feeling he is going to sign the QO then leave unless the sharks turn it around but to me we’re still 2-3 years from playoff contenders.

I think this is what practically everyone is missing in these Timo scenarios. The Sharks are so much more likely to just extend him, given we should be coming out of our rebuild while he's still a first line winger. So if a trade were to happen, the Sharks would be getting a really good return, anything meh is going to get passed on immediately.

Also, people undervalue him so much. He drives play on his line. Seeing contract extensions of mid 7s are insane to me. If Hintz is getting 8.25, Timo is getting AT LEAST that and likely much more
