Leafs defence and depth have been very good. I don't see them adding unless it's a serious upgrade, like a Chychrun type.

Jensen is a nice piece though. Monahan is possible but I would top out my offer at a 2nd and a mid prospect.

Turn that 2nd to a 1st and Caps accept.

Monahan usually cools down as the seasons progresses, however if he’s still producing at this pace by the deadline a 2nd and mid prospect won’t cut it, especially with retention.

The reason why I disagree with you is because Toews, O'Reilly and Horvat could all be available at the deadline. They would all get nice packages and push Monahans value down. Just my take though!

Well I certainly hope you’re right, believe me! I’m not sure Toews will find a home, maybe the other 2 though.

im not gonna argue about monahans value but center isint a need and D isint either id use the picks for a winger who can play in the top 6

Toews will need a 50+50 retention trade considering his cap hit so he's in a class of his own, maybe O'Reilly but Blues are pretty likely to still be in the hunt by TDL and most of their guys are locked for a while so trading away assets would seem unlikely. Horvat and Monahan are surely in the same ball park but again if Vancouver is, like the Blues, in the hunt like they're now is it likely they sell stuff instead of trying to go in? (Applies only if Demko starts stopping pucks)
I'd sure be excited if we fetch a 1st but I think what the Rangers got in return of Copp is reasonable to expect (2x 2nd) as Sean's outscoring Copp and will be cheaper cap wise.

I think scoring depth is a bigger issue than our top 6 contributions.
