I highly doubt Seattle goes for this. I like Hertl a lot as a player, but I don't think Seattle is in a position to accelerate their timeline just yet despite their hot start to the season. Their best path forward to sustained success is likely to just keep building up their young core, and that means holding onto someone like Wright. Now, that doesn't mean the Kraken should sell off pieces at the deadline or anything; in fact, I think they should hold onto their players with maybe some smaller additions to help with the PK and enjoy the ride and try and reach the playoffs. If this success proves to be sustainable, then they can revisit the idea of pulling off a blockbuster signing or trade in the offseason.
