Value wise im sure thatd be fine, but the retention is needless and unlikely. 3.5 is not alot for a top 4 defender, more likely oilers send back a yamamoto, puljujarvi, Ryan, Foegle in a deal for cap reasons.

I get what you're saying, but the extra 1.75mil is a lot for a team looking to compete and that retention is the only reason I offer the 2023 1st.

Edmundson is not a top 4 guy. He’s a meh bottom pair one and is well overpaid. Oilers lose any trade they don’t get paid to take him on

Not to mention the Cap is worth a hell of a lot more to the oilers right now then the Habs....

He 100% improves them, hes paid like a 3-4 defenceman and thats what hed be to them theres no retention here. Take your bias elsewhere, then come back without it.

Dude can barely play top 4 min on a garbage habs blue line.....sure he was a serviceable top 4 d a few years and couple injuries ago....IF he was such an amazing top 4 defender why did the Hurricanes part ways with him for a 4th???
