No. Wayyyyyyy to much value going to Chicago. Towes is worth a first max with retention, not a first and heinola.

Too much value going to CHI. I would definitely be interested in bringing in Toews at the deadline but not for that price.

I don't know, you have to respect Toews. Triple Stanley Cup champ plus he is great on the faceoffs. The 3rd round pick is there for the retention so Heinola+1st is the value for Toews. To me it seems kinda fair because WIN's pick is gonna be late.

I agree that Toews would bring a lot to any team! It will depend how much interest he gets at the deadline but you also have to remember that he has full control over where he goes which could limit a return as well. I would be willing to give up a 1st along with a lesser prospect but not a 1st and one of our top prospects like Heinola.

Toews would be okay, but isn't worth close to that much even with retention. The Jets should not be spending a first on him. They need to start stocking up with picks with Scheifele's and Dubois' futures being up in the air.

I am confident that Toews would waive his NMC for Winnipeg because he is from Manitoba. He would probably like to finish his carrer at home (I don't know his preferences, but it is common in the hockey world). I agree WIN could include another prospect, but Heinola made sense for me because he wanted a change of scenery no so long ago.

A 2023 1st for Tazer half retained is fair and the Hawks would accept that. Nothing else needed. And I have to think Toews would be thrilled to play in his home town.

Good proposal, maybe the 3rd is unnecessary. Toews has to agree to waive and he won't do that indiscriminately so I think that might limit the return.

Ignore the many people on here who insist JT has no value. He's actually still playing really well, but his style doesn't offer a lot of value on a tanking team. On a Cup contender he's got a ton of value.

Heinola is a pretty high end prospect. You are essentially giving up two 1st round picks for Toews. If there are more teams involved in bids, I could see it getting up there. But I have a feeling if he asks for a trade, the options will be fairly limited. Plus, CHI has a plethora of young LHD in the system to work through as it is. So, if bidding does get high enough to add more than a late 1st, CHI will probably be asking for a forward prospect.

Oh absolutely! I brought that up because I think WPG would have an advantage there if he really wanted to play at home. That would limit the options and perhaps we could get him for a little less than a regular market.
