So whoever the source is just said that Monahan could be the returning piece in a Boeser trade and nothing else?

I'm just trying to see what's the appeal in having Monahan in the deal vs Drouin+picks for example. If it's to flip him, then what does it mean if MTL is willing to give him for Boeser instead of flipping him themselves?

To me it kind of just seems like a baseless rumour but maybe there's more information out there as to why this even makes sense.

Rick Dhaliwal was talking about this being a possibility on his show today. I'm sure you can find a tweet about it at some point

Why would MTL add Boesers term onto the pile of already desperate to move terms?

Probably to flip him at the deadline for a bigger return than Monahan.

They are not taking Boeser without a winger going out! They are overloaded on the wings with overpaid players much like Boeser.

Fair, but unproductive. On July 1 you will have traded Brock Boeser and all you'll have to show for it is Nathan Schnarr. Ida thought that getting even a poor return for him, like a second and a third, would be preferable. And if you do that trade now, I think that it would be a lot harder to trade Sean Monahan than Brock Boeser.
